I ended up with quite a bit of extra frosting. I think I made the cookies too big. I ended up with 30 unfrosted, and 15 once frosted and sandwiched together. Do you have a suggestion on how big to ball the dough? Thanks for sharing!

Just wanted you to know that if these cookies are as good as the slow-cook chocolate stuff you posted a while back, I'm in big trouble. For Anonymous in Germany - I made a recipe over the weekend with cocoa and flour instead of the cake mix. It was really good.

This is going to be a long comment, but here goes:

For the chocolate wafers:
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened Dutch process cocoa or regular
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar [see recipe note]
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons (1 1/4 sticks) room-temperature, unsalted butter
1 large egg

Thanks you for the post I have wanted to try these for some time now.

The recipe I have calls for 2 pkg of cake mix, 2 eggs and 1 cup (2 sticks of butter). And about half the cream cheese in the frosting.
