I was in a roashow once and we needed to do glitter on our faces. This was pre-glitter makeup days, so our young women's leader was using this clear, jelly stuff to get the glitter to stick on our faces. I heard some of the other leaders talking about it, but didn't know what KY Jelly was, so I just let it go. And then about 3 years later I found out what KY was. I can't think of glitter the same anymore.

I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in July 09. She had a full head of dark hair. She and I were the only patients in labor and delivery for the whole time we were there. Every time the nurses would take her from me they would bring her back with a different hair do and different bows. I think they were a little bored. I was amazed at how good the bows would stay in when one particular nurse would do her hair. She let me in on her little secret...elmers glue. It totally works and comes right out with a little warm water. Now we have moved from glued in bows to barrette's to keep her bangs out of her eyes. She's trying to grow her hair out you know.

My mom used KY with my little sisters too. She learned it from the nurses in the hospital as well and usually had the little sample packs that they had used for the bows at the hospital. I used my husbands really thick hair gel to stick in my daughters bows and that worked pretty well too.

I used the elmers glue as mentioned by tallia. It washes out easy, and it wasn't as smeary as KY. I tried it and corn syrup too, and like the elmers the best. However, at 9 months my daughter pulled one out of her hair when she should have been napping and almost choked on it. I switched to little clips that I could remove safely at naptime/bedtime after that.

This was way before I knew that KY was more than a medical supply (oh newlyweds are so innocent), so I was very willing to share the advice with anyone who asked. The looks! OH the LOOKS!
