Nancy Hanson's All Wrapped Up & Giveaway + Winners!

Last night we were grumpy. All four of us. We were all headed for a heap of cold coal on Christmas morning if things didn't change fast.

Lucky for us, Nancy Hanson had sent us her holiday cd All Wrapped Up and it had arrived only hours before in the mail. We turned it on, and it turned our whole night around.

We danced, and drummed and sang along. I tried to teach Ever how to clap (fail, too young) and The Chief ran the distance of our front room with his hands in the air like he was perpetually winning the marathon. The cd made us all so happy we listened to it twice in a row.

Nancy is a folksy singer/song writer--a performer we especially love here in Utah. Her voice is like honey, honestly, it's the voice every mother should have when they become the guardian of little human beings. All of her songs come with a wink and a smile, a refreshing mix of down-to-earth and heaven. Think Nanci Griffith and you've got your new best friend, Nancy Hanson.

On this album in particular she's collaborated with the ever-enjoyable Ryan Shupe and his right-hand man, Craig Miner. Try Far, Far Away on Judea's Plains or the upbeat spin on Away In a Manger. Or by the whole album and have yourself a happy Christmas. Coal free.

Listen or buy here.

You can also enter to win one here, you know, if you wanted. And believe me, you do.

Tell me if you are getting goods or coal for Christmas and why.

Contest ends Friday, Dec. 17th at midnight MST.

Winners!

Nancy decided to pull three winners! And they are:
Brooke
Jen
and
Deanna

But we're all winners because Nancy is offering a c jane special of $11 a cd! Right now, her cds are actually sold out at her online site, but she can work something out with you if you email her at nancy @ nancyhanson.com--she'll even pay shipping!

Thanks Nancy.

I'm hoping goodies, but most likely coal! I haven't totally been in the Christmas mood this season, so Santa is probably mad at me. Glad to know there is a good Christmas CD out there... I might have to go buy it if I don't win! Thanks!

Gold-E said...

My parents gave all of us kids coal one year in our stockings - no other treats. Must have really taught me a lesson because I'm always working for the good stuff now!

Heidi said...

Goodies. Totally. My 2 1/2 year old is having a meltdown morning, and I haven't raised my voice yet. And I'm babysitting my friend's son. So yeah, lots of goodies. :)

receiving one good. in the form of a reminder of that "honey voice" i should be using as a guardian of my five littles.....

Goods I think. Well just one particular good. My boyfriend took me ring shopping and if that isn't a good (well really a GREAT! Fantastic!), well, then I'm just not the luckiest girl alive. And I know I am (and you are too. It's not a position reserved for one). And so, obviously, I'm well on the goods side of things.

Mostly coal, but hopefully a goodie mixed in.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Am probably getting coal for Christmas. That is, if Santa bases these decisions on housecleaning skills.

I've been too busy to hardly even give Christmas proper attention...which i'm sure is a coal-ish thing to do....blast

Jen said...

It's Christmastime? Definitely coal since I just got frustrated at my daughter for leaving some 'coal' in her panties... I'm in serious need of some holiday spirit. Nancy might help. Love her, since college myself. Merry Christmas!

I'm rehabing from knee surgery so often I can be pretty grumpy and "complainy"--definitely coal type of days. I am trying to be more positive so Santa will deem me "good" and my dear family as well.

Fabs said...

I have mother's guilt too, just like most of us do. But my kids love me and they know I love them even though I'm grumpy sometimes. So I think I'm getting Goods.

My family will all be together this year instead of my hubby being deployed. So, whether I deserve it or not, I'm going to be enjoying goodies this christmas!!!

Julie Johnson said...

I better get goodies especially since I have to have tonsil surgery tomorrow and won't be 100% on Christmas!

As a stay at home mom, I get really grumpy at the end of the day, so I might be getting coal. We could definatly use an upper in the evenings.

I'm getting a book shelf and hopefully some new books. But I probably deserve the coal.

We are getting a few goodies this year, but it will be a modest Christmas. In the words of my three-year old, "I have been good for twenty weeks." Hey, that's almost 50%, so we deserve something.

(Between you and me, he's been good way more than that, but how could I correct such cuteness?)

And hopefully I won't be getting coal. :) Trying hard...

This year I'm getting goodies because I have loved and treated with kindness a woman who is constantly mean and nasty to me. It's the only thing about the situation that makes it ok.

Remarkably, on our poorest Christmas ever, we are having the best Christmas (and getting the best gifts) ever. Tender mercies are tangible at our house.

I could have used some cheer last night when the radio station's Christmas tunes weren't doing their job. Can I really be to blame for going all postal on my family when the tunes are no good? Probably coal.

i love nanci griffith! can't wait to hear nancy hanson! i've been pretty darn good this year.

Lisita said...

Goods: All I want is my stocking filled.

Bug said...

Goods, definitely goods. My daughter has recently decided she is a marsupial and demands to be carried everywhere. So I think I deserve at least some reward (aside from my extremely toned muscles in my right arm). Especially when when you consider I have to climb up about a million stairs to get to our apartment.

Alicia J said...

Hopefully no coal for me.

Bailee said...

coal probably...we need Something to keep this house warm;)

Laura said...

Well...I did buy something for myself from "Santa." It's Richard Paul Evans' newest book. Oh, and a got a shirt from shirt.woot (after Chup's review of them, I browsed and picked out the Imposter shirt).

This Cd looks wonderful I am in the need of some good Christmas music- it is what makes the season. Coal...goods??? I guess I will let Santa decide.

Just a thought... said...

I definitely deserve goods ...after mailing lots of packages to my son in Afghanistan,a bunch to my youngest son serving a mission in Washington, and hand delivering a car load of presents to my son and his family in Kansas. (Not easy considering it was a 12 hour drive ...by myself!) I am just finishing up the shopping and decorating for my daughter and her new husband who will be driving here for Christmas. So even if I don't deserve it she does since that's a 25 hour drive!

Michelle said...

Maybe good presents for me. I've been a good girl. Well, most of the time. So half and half.

Katie Morse said...

of course I am getting the goods, I am the mom aren't I.

The Bears said...

We had a coal burning stove and one year it was so cold and snowy, the coal man could not deliver, so we were fahreezing... needless to say... I won't complain if I get coal, but most likely I'll be getting this cd, because I'm so lucky!

Don and Kelley said...

I am getting goods because my family loves me and so does Santa. Sometimes I am not that nice, so I should be getting some coal. My famiy loves me and always forgives me, that's why I am getting goods.

Goods- in small amounts- we're going all Dave Ramsey in 2011 so we're keeping it real. And our anniversary and a daughter's birthday are this week.

Well, Let me just say that Christmas seems to happen because of women. We all should be getting goods!
...My husband is famous for going to Costco the day before Christmas to get my goods. The great part about that is that they have a great return policy if his desires don't match mine! (Hello massage table set up in my living room.)

Niki Carter said...

I'm getting goods. I have four kids, eight and under. The last two count as at least five! Plus, I am playing 2nd counselor in the RS, enrichment leader, and enrichment committee at the moment! Send me some honey!

Susan said...

Goods! I've been a good girl this year working and putting my hubby through school.

I would love to expand my horizons to include Nancy Hanson!

K Silvestro said...

Oh I'm getting goods, but I'm giving lots and lots of coal.
Actually, I bought some chocolate "coal" for hubby's stocking and the five year old was so concerned that he would think he was on the naughty list that she tattled on me!

- Lindsy Weidner - said...

Hopefully some goods and not coal. Although its so cold in here I could use some coal. ;-)

tarynn said...

I just rear-ended someone, so it's coal for me :(

Boiled Chicken Dinner said...

Hopefully a little of both...I am a fence sitter and enjoy being both good and bad.

abbyB said...

Hopefully I will get the goods this year. My 4 week old son was hospitalized for 7 weeks and I stayed with him. Away from my husband and daughter. The children's hospital he was in is 3 hours away from our home. I'd like to win all three CDs so that I can give one to my mother and mother-in-law who came to Arkansas (where we live) from Georgia and Utah to take care of my daughter and husband while I was with our son.

I hope I am getting something good, I have tried real hard this year to be good...ok maybe just a little side of coal.

Jenny said...

I think I have done alright this year. At least I am pretty sure I have not done anything deserving of coal. A Nancy Hanson cd would be a fabulous goodie to get!

Joan G. said...

I must have been better than I thought, 'cause my darling dear husband gave me a new camera for an early Christmas present (a serious DSLR upgrade from my previous point-and-shoot world). That having been said, and since I have already been given so much this year, I would re-gift (but in the best possible way, and with assurances of future borrowing rights) Nancy's CD to my BFF, who is a HUGE Nanci Griffith fan, but doesn't know Nancy Hanson *yet*.

BTW, I actually met Nanci Griffith the one and only time I've been to Utah! So, that has to count for something, right? :o) Pick me!
