I love Fall, why wouldn't I love October then? The cold weather, the flannel sheets, the baking, hot chocolate, and all things sugary. Old movies in bed Sunday mornings, and just how everything smells so clean, and so fresh...oh and fires in the fireplace. How could I forget? October is certainly my favorite month, shouldn't it be everyone's?

October means cooler weather in St. George! Along with cooler weather I love being able to put on pants and sweaters and drink my pumpkin spice hot chocolate!! Oh and Halloween parties for all the kiddo's! October makes me happy!
October in Brisbane, Australia means that there are Jacaranda trees blooming EVERYWHERE. Not sure if you have them? But they have purple blossoms that are just stunning and they only bloom once a year. The story is that 30 years ago the Brisbane hospital would give each mother that just gave birth a jacaranda seedling as a gift. 30 years later they're fully grown, beautiful trees for us Brisbanarians to enjoy!!
What I love about this month is in 2 days I get to see my fam for the first time in a year and I get to meet my niece!
October in London, England, has brought lovely autumn weather, gorgeous colours of leaves and now I am beside myself with excitement that Christmas is coming! What I love most, though, is that Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend, so I get an extra hour in bed!

I dig October Smells: pumpkins, cinnamon, cider, and all things warm, yummy and loaded with carbs.
can i say TWO things i love about october, one of my fav. months of the year? 1) pumpkin patches! my son was old enough to appreciate them this year & it was magical. 2) my son has lots of developmental delays and this month he learned his 2nd word: ca-ca, which means cat, which are his favorite things EVER.
I found out that my sweet husband would be coming home 3 months earlier than planned from his deployment, and my 18 month old started giving me spontaneous kisses and saying I love you. So blessed right now.
What I loved about October? Successfully moving our family of four to Hawaii, and loving every up and down moment of our transition into "normal" life here.
My Birthday!!! On the 22nd I celebrated turning 30 with my family. They made me feel so special, even if I was starting to feel a little old. I paid homage to my 20s by staying up late (10:30pm). I'm a mom of two little boys...that's late!
the best part of this october was having my daughter try to get out of going to bed (i wanna brush my teeth again! more kisses! she says). that sounds dumb, but she's two, and it's amazing to watch her turning into a big kid who tries to avoid bedtime...especially when it involves more kisses. :)
Wow! October is always good for me. Cooler weather, fall colors and my daughter's birthday on the 22nd. October rocks!
October means school holidays here in Australia - so routine goes out the window, and it's PJ days and pancakes for two weeks! YAY!! It also means that the weather is getting warmer. The smell of warmness is just glorious (until it hits 38 deg Celsius of course!)

This is the motherlode of all motherlodes! My favorite thing about this month is Conference. It's always the pick me up I need when it starts getting cold.
This month I LOVED the glorius weather, normally October in Alice, is hot, opressive and the beginning of 7 more months of temps above 90 degree's, but we are enjoying an " indian winter" and it has been blissful!

This October has been new and exciting. We live in a new city and have never experienced an 80* day in October before, and didn't expect our 3rd wedding anniversary to be that day. It was wonderful!
I love my family's annual Halloween Craft Day we have every October (hence, "annual"). This year we made little Trick-or-Treaters, and they look so real! Like a two-year-old ghost is waiting at the door! My other favorite part is my haunted village. I inherited most all pieces/houses from my lgrandma (Bammiroo), so I feel really close to her in October :)
Just one?
Pumpkins.
Pumpkins=October. I love it!
Love this stuff! What I've like about October...I'm living in West Africa and I've loved exploring the amazing beaches. I'm missing fall coziness, but I'm trying to focus on the good things here :)
It it possible the the best part of October was also the hardest part? 'Cause for me, that's how it happened. As I stood there, watching my brother disappear down a long hall, with tears in my eyes, I thought my heart had been ripped out. There was just something about this brother leaving on his mission at this particular time that was extra hard. My sweet parent's have been dealt a pretty rough hand as of late, and I knew, for several different reasons, that sending off their baby would be really tough. So, with that in mind, along with the concept that my children will be 6 and 3 when he returns (WHAT?!), I was pretty sad. But the good! Oh the good! I know there is nowhere else my brother should be right now. It gives me comfort and peace to think of the happiness that he will bring into the lives of those who are waiting to hear the message he carries. Plain and simple, he will be a representative of Jesus Christ helping families to be together forever. Does it get any better than that? I think not!
I am Stephanie and that is my bitter-SWEET October story!
My favorite thing this month has been that I managed to get out and run or walk every single weekday morning!
My favorite thing about this month has been the miracle of peace in my life. With so much uncertainty (new mortgage+ even newer job loss + 3 small children = uncertaity) I am so thankful to a loving Heavenly Father that we are being sustained and have peace.
I also love the fall colors, the smell of wood burning fireplaces when I go for my evening run, the crisp air, and Halloween (how can you not love a holiday where you get to dress up and candy is abundant?!)
Holy smokes! What a giveaway! I have always loved October because the leaves and weather are changing and it includes Halloween. I love Halloween. But this year, I especially love October because we became a family of four. I successfully delivered a baby boy on the 8th and I couldn't be happier!
October has been fabulous. My 3 year old son has muscular dystrophy and he took his first unassisted steps. The joy was much like the joy of watching an infant, but a bit more frightening- the taller the tower, the harder they fall, ya know? Also, I'm pregnant with my first biological child. A little girl due in March. I felt her first fluttering movements this month. Such a great feeling. I wish we could keep this month on repeat, groundhogs day style.

I have loved October so very much because of my first - and so far only - nephew. He's now 14 weeks old and has exposed more of his personality with every passing day. This month he's discovered his toes, learnt to roll over - what a baffled look on his face that caused! - started giggling, enjoyed 'boo' and wooed me in every way, every day.
I love him!
I would derive so much pleasure in giving his mum and dad this beautiful package.
Thank you, CJane, for making this available to one lucky person. You're a marvel!
Sam - in sunny Australia
The full moon last week!
In October I've watched my sweet baby boy (he's a handsome possible Ever-suitor, just putting that out there) try learning to crawl by starting out doing Marine pushups on pointed toes & progress to Downward Dog. I think he might actually crawl this weekend, just to make October complete.
This October has been full of blessings. Yes the trails have been plentiful, but the blessings have abounded as well. Trial: The basement flooded Blessing: Quality time with my sweet mother as we came up with creative ways to drain the water. Trial: A sister with a tumor Blessing: that same sisters baby delivered early but happy and healthy Trail: Death of a beloved grandparent Blessing: A chance to remember all the reasons we loved him and just how lucky we are to have know him. I guess what Im trying to say is that I have lover October because it has reminded me of just how great God is. Life is often difficult and un-fair but in the midst of all the hard times our Heavenly Father uses simple means to remind us just how much we mean to him!
My favorite blog of the month is a hard one to choose. I loved the Halloween story and your links back to previous stories. I love Ever (cutest baby ever, and I have 5), but the best? The question on homosexuality and mormonism. Your answer was simply....brilliant!
My favorite part this October is that my 3 year old is starting to grasp the spirit of Autumn and Halloween. She and my almost 2 year old love to throw leaves around. Audrey loves to point out what is "scery" and squeel for a dramatic effect. Having my children around me makes the small parts of life and seasons that much more magical. - marvelous_marvia@hotmail.com
What I love about this month, other than the fact that summer is nearly here...is that hopes I have put out into the universe because I couldn't see another option have actually happened...in surprising and wonderful and magical ways. And I feel blessed.
My favorite thing about this month so far... cutting out felt hearts with my mama for her costume. At her beauty shop they have a different theme each year and this year is Alice In WOnderland. My mama is the Queen of Hearts, funny she is this character because her real heart is HUGE!!
~Molly P
October is my favorite month and this year has totally delivered. I love that I celebrated 8 years of marriage and my husband and I are still all googly for one another. I love that I saw my awesome baby niece play in the leaves for the first time. I love the October walks and hiking with yummy air and crispy leaves. And soup. Oh my goodness...I love the soup.
October is my favorite month - well now maybe it's my second favorite, September might have taken the lead. Why? - you ask`, well because my first child was just born last month.. so that might have shifted the favorites around a bit. But I have really enjoyed getting to know my little baby boy, and taking walks with him in his carriage, enjoying the autumn weather with this new little life. Yay!
My little grand-daughter who lives in Arizona was able to come an spend Fall Break with us 2 weeks ago, when the weather was still gorgeous. We had so much fun playing with her. She's 6 years old, and my husband and I both took off work, and just had an enjoying and relaxing week with her. We don't get to see her often enough, and miss her greatly. She lived with us from 5 1/2 month until 4 years old, and then moved. It is always such a treat to see her.
October has been an amazing month! My boyfriend and I took a long weekend getaway to the NH mountains over Columbus weekend where we hiked in the White Mountains surrounded by fall's majesty.
On our way out of our dream weekend, we made an impulse stop at a ski shop and, on a whim, purchased snowboarding gear for us both. I've never snowboarded before, but I love the idea of adventure we'll experience together this winter.
I'll never forget this October.
If I had to pick only one thing I love about October, I'd say it was the very first weekend where I got to watch and hear men of God talking directly to me and telling me the things I needed to hear about the love my Savior has for me and how I can be more like Him.
woohoo! nice selection of cool stuff. thank you!
I love October. I love it because it cools down and life seems to speed up. I love that the leaves turn colors. I love Halloween and all that silliness. I love the fall festivals and the bonfire cookouts. I even love that my husband goes shooting with his friends and comes back smelly and bruised but VERY relaxed.
Here's to an even better November!
October-summer is gone and we welcome fall with crisp leaves and yummy smells from the house. One of my favorite months!
How can I love just one thing about October? My "baby" turned 2 this month and his new younger brother, the real "baby," has reached and surpassed his 1 month milestone (already? he was just placed in my arms yesterday, right?) Throw a 4 year old big brother into the mix and I have a growing basketball team/missionary army in the works!
I've loved the leaves changing color and the anticipation of Halloween! October is such a good month!
Wow -- gorgeous haul!
This October, I've loved watching my baby lady Harper learn how to crawl. Especially through those crunchy, new-to-me yellow Aspen leaves on the ground.
I love the fall leaves. You drive passed the trees and many of them have a dull green color to them but the you get that one, the one that is the perfect technicolor orange or red.

This october is have a new baby, and it feels completely unreal after 8 years of trying to have a baby. this october I m able to real enjoy living in Quebec without moaning too much about the weather and loneliness. Because my heart is healed and replenished!
Lucie
October 13 was my baby boy's 1st birthday. :
My favorite thing about October was that my husband and I got to see our growing baby via ultrasound for the first time! Since then, everything else about October has sparkled even more.
Meghann
I loved the fact that October made a hospital stay easier for my son. Last week we were in the hospital with my 18 month old because his ear swelled up and looked like a cauliflower. He had a nasty case of mastoiditus and had to have an IV in his foot for three days to get antibiotics to clear up the infection.
In that time, I started to really treasure October. We would wheel him over to the window in the cutest little wheelchair and look at the changing leaves in a park across the street. The nurses had decorated the floor with Halloween decorations which became our entertainment. We would walk the hallways and count the pumpkins that we could find hanging on the walls. We would pass black kitties taped to the doors and take turns meowing. At a time like that, it was a gift to have the fun of October all around us.
my favorite thing about october? we had a baby shower for my sister, who's expecting our first nephew! all six of us siblings made the trip home for the party, which was super huge, since we hadn't all been together since last christmas. it was so fun. my family is already the best, but it's getting even best-er as it continues to grow. yay!
I love October because of conference - church should always be in PJs and on the couch, especially when you have small children. I love October because it is my birthday. I love October for the great colours in nature. And I love October for pumpkin carving parties, good friends and pumpkin cake with lots and lots of frosting!
And the best part is - I have reason to believe November is going to be even better!
I love all the yummy fall food. Candy, anything pumpkin, warm soup... I could go on and on. :)
My little boy started school this month. While I don't necessarily *love* that, I love the promise it brings to his future.
Mine might be silly so just bear with me! My 11 yr old son is a huge Little Big Planet (PS3) fan. He called me a few weeks ago from his Nini's (G'ma) house in hysterics...his friend on playstation was playing Little Big Planet 2 and it doesn't even come out until January. I mean the child was frantic! SO I hopped online and found out that it was the invite only beta testing. All I could tell him was sorry. Oh it was awful. So about 2 days later, Nini was checking her email! Guess what?!?!? He was invited to join the beta testing! Screaming and hollering,HUGE grin! I honestly think it was the happiest moment of his life so far!!
So, after I just wrote a book, I will say that seeing how happy my baby was has been the absolute best thing this month...oh and If the weather in Florida would stay under 80 it would be a perfect month!
Fitcher
This October we celebrated my little boy's first birthday. Being able to celebrate all the joy he has brought into our home was the best part of this month for me.
I love October! This one has beentough but I have found myself each day looking for the tender mercies you and Stephanie talk about. I had a terrible case of mono and I have four small children ages 6, 4, 2, and 10 months. It was tough but word got out and people started helping. I'm still not back to my old self but have really enjoyed seeing the many blessings we gave received. This month my oldest son was so smart as a man tried to lure him into hus car with the promise of candy. He said no and ignored the man and he is safely snuggled in his bed right now. That is a tender mercy.
I think thus may just be the best motherlode ever!!
What I have loved the most about October 2010 is that it is the final month of my final pregnancy. My second little girl will be born on Monday, November 1. (The good thing about a scheduled c-section is knowing exactly when the peanut will arrive.) I love the fact that our firstborn will get to have one final "hurrah" as an only child, with Halloween (as a good witch) immediately preceeding the birth of her baby sister.
sleeping with the windows open. no a/c and no heat. perfect!!!
I live back east and the Fall weather has been warm, if not hot and muggy. My favorite thing about this month has been the rare days that the mornings were crisp and cool, just as Fall should be.
Despite all my stress at having just started seminary, I have many things I've loved about this October! The two biggest are- welcoming my grandmother to a new city in a new home with me and finding out my sister is pregnant and I'm going to be an aunt for the first time. Amazing, wonderful family things happening this month!
Courtney, I love your joy:) It is very contagious. I loved that this month I was able to celebrate the birthday of my first born son, a soldier in Afghanistan. I love that God blessed me with such an incredible son, I love that God continues to give me time with this outstanding young man. If we are truly lucky our children grow up and we really really like them:) I LOVE this boy! He is one of 13 boys, yet he was the very first "take" God gave me on being a mom. I am ever thankful to have him. This month is about the beauty, true beauty of God and my Caleb is what I have enjoyed the most:)
ps...I am also ever so grateful the goofy wonderful guy is in the Signal Corps so I get to talk to him everyday...especially on his birhtday!
This has been a pretty crazy month for me, but I loved that my husband had a successful surgery and is feeling 100% better after months of being very sick. Now if only fall would arrive in South Georgia, I'd be *very* happy. (Yesterday it was 92 degrees. UGH.)
I love October. I love my daughters being thrilled by plastic spiders and spiderwebs. I would love love love this motherload.
Re-working my little sister's Belle dress from Halloween 19 years ago. My little girl is smitten with that dress now. Picking out the seams my mom sewed so long ago made me love and appreciate her that much more.
Pumpkin donuts at Dunkin
I have a new-found love for October and fall in general and this October was so great that it's now giving spring a run for it's money! Besides being able to break out the sweaters, jeans, boots, etc and a fabulous family photo session with your very own Blue Lillies (yay!), this was the first october where both my daughters eagerly anticipated Halloween and all the fun fall brings. Talking about costumes, seeing them in costumes, pumpkin picking, and pumpkin carving has been a lot more fun when seeing it all through their eyes. Imagine what awaits me at Christmas time????? I am giddy with excitement!
I have a love/hate relationship with this October. I found out I was moving cross country two weeks before the big day and had to be packed and ready for my next move (to Africa) next August at that time. (sounds kind of complicated, and it is) Cue many meltdowns and several very expensive trips to Costco. But the good news is that it's all over and I'm back in the city I love the most, DC. :) October in DC is gorgeous.
My husband wants to know if he can win? If so, he says The World Series. My answer: anticipating Halloween!
What an ammazing mother lode. Just want you to know...I would share this. See? Pick me because I'm nice.
October? Today, I'm making diet coke cupcakes with chocolate ganache...that's something to love.
I love the beautiful weather after the long hot summer. I love the changing leaves.
I love that I bought the Halloween candy at Costco this year thinking of how much I'd save buying in bulk - when really all it meant is that I'd eat every single Milky Way and Almond Joy fromt he 15 lb. bag before Halloween even got here. Nice. Bulk.
My favorite thing about October has been that it means it is almost November, when my baby girl will be born. The fall leaves, the cooler air (although not so much in North Carolina--it was 86 degrees yesterday), all get me one step closer to meeting a new baby. I'm getting antsy, I suppose, which is probably why I am entering a giveaway--unprecedented, for me.
What a great giveaway! Definitely the best part of October 2010 was getting married. We had such a fun time and I loved seeing our friends and family all come together.
AHH! October is the best month in Michigan...crisp air, beautiful colors, visiting the orchard, I love it all! AND, my daughter's birthday is October 1, so that alone makes it a great month!
This month ive loved watching my baby turn into a toddler. He's started cheesing it up for pictures, which makes for a lot of adorableness!
Shanicherie@gmail.com
i love fall for many reasons, its the end of my vegetable garden/canning.. its when my husband gets excited to go out hunting, in the n.e. penn. the colors of autumn this year are so vibrant, when i watch a beautiful sunset filled with the colorful trees, i feel Gods love and how autumn is a wonderful gift he has given us.
I'm from Texas so i'm still hanging out in 80 degree weather. However my favorite thing about this month specifically is that I ran my first 1/2 marathon 11 days ago, in Denver, CO. I really felt fall maybe for the first time in my life and it was amazing!
My favourite thing about this month is pretty much everything. I basically have twin babies to yours, except my second is a boy. but our firsts and seconds are born eerily close to eachother. And this is the first holiday season (thanksgiving and halloween === I'm in canada) that my older guy has really gotten it. and he has loved every second of turkey and apple picking and pumpkin carving and hay riding and reading scary stories and it must makes me delighted!!
I LOVELOVELOVE fall. I get to put up my fall garland and leaves and leaves, my favorite part of starting the holiday season!! Love the cinnamon, pumpkin warm smells of all my candles and such. Also, one of my favorite things was getting to have your parents here visiting our ward again, and having them to our house:) They are awesome...so glad they are our new friends here in Illinois! How lucky am I??
I'm finally done with school and can actually enjoy autumn, who knew it was so pleasant?
I've loved that canned pumpkin is back on the shelves.
First of all, can I just say wow? What a giveaway! Thank you! One thing that I really loved about this October is all of the quality time I had with my husband and kids. We didn't need to go anywhere or do anything in particular. We just genuinely had a great time just being together!
I have loved the cooler weather! Being pregnant makes me always warm and it's been nice to go through a busy day without sweating my head off!
jef.bethany.davis@gmail.com
We bought a farm!! It finally happened after waiting for 2 months. Now we have a lot of work to do on the old farmhouse. It could really use some 'spice'!
Love the cooler weather!
A. Miller in Ohio
Wow! Best giveaway ever. You rock.
I love October and I love Halloween. My favorite part about this particular October is the one week we have had where it actually felt like Fall. Other than that it has been hot and muggy!
The arrival of the pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks is always a great part of October, too.
I love October because this is the month where you get to see all the leaves change. There's nothing like the leaves in New England. Crossing my fingers!
I'm only allowed one thing? October has been a crazy month with travels, a car accident, the stomach flu (and more). But it's been a blessed month too. Our baby is 3 months and happier than ever. Her smiles light up my day. Our first baby is turning five today and it makes me melt down into tears whenever I think about it. But her excitement at being such a big girl makes me so, so happy. Life is good, really.
What I love about this month is that it's the last October I will spend as a mother of three. Next Halloween I'll have four little bodies to dress up:).
Our annual visit to Carter Mountain Apple Orchard atop a mountain in Charlottesville, VA. Taking in the scenic view, picking apples with our children and eating too many warm apple cider donuts...true Autumn love.
Oh my - please let me win!! Who doesn't love Fall? Especially in New England? My favorite thing so far though has not been pumpkins or foliage, but trips to the beach in this unseasonably warm fall.
What I have loved about this month is boots...lot's of boots! Boots are personally the best part of fall and it all started this month!
What an awesome motherlode!
I've loved feeling my baby move even more this month. Even when it hurts. Even when I think she's not-so-secretly mooning me (because no arm or leg could possibly be that large & round up next to me rib cage...). What a miracle for me, to be experiencing this pregnancy. During my favorite season, too!
My favorite thing about October 2010...so much to love, but I'd have to say going to the Dr. with my husband to hear our baby's heartbeat and dreaming up what it will be like to experience October 2011 with and through the eyes of our 6 month old (who I am most certain would look adorable in those onesies with an indestructible book hanging out of his or her mouth... ;-)).
This October my favorite thing has been escaping the crazy heat of Florida and moving somewhere that actually has a fall! That, and finishing my second trimester this month!
October is all about fall here. I loved going to the pumpkin patch with my kids this month!
What a fun giveaway! One thing I have loved about this month is my children. I love my children every month, but they have been especially delightful this month.
I love the leaves beginning to change here in the South Carolina mountains. And it is finally...finally!!!...getting cooler!
What I've loved about this month was having my husband home. We was away on an internship for 8 weeks and although that doesn't seem like much, he is my best friend. I don't have any kiddos yet to remind me of my husband's presence which is why I thank October for bringing him back to me.
I loved turning 40 this month.
o.k., not really, but I couldn't think of anything else.
My favorite part of this October has been watching my electric bill plummet with the cooling weather.
Tricia

I love when I finally finished the freaking dragon costume. Phew.
My favorite thing about this October has been the beautiful weather we've had.
This month I got to feel my little in-utero buddy moving around for the first time. Who can ask for more than that?
Yay! What an awesome giveaway. I've loved this month for the typical reasons (Fall in VA is UNbelievably gorgeous) but beyond that...because it's been a month of reflection. A new baby is on it's way in February and for some reason it makes me treasure the children I have even more....realizing how quickly they've grown and are growing I think I've been a better mother, appreciating the small stuff. Love it. Love motherhood. Love October.
I love this month because I just found out I am pregnant!!
I love the fall. Unfortunately, as a new Texas resident, there are no misty mornings, changing leaves, and crisp air. I guess I just have to settle for my daily swim in the pool.
This October I loved that it was fall almost to the end and then it suddenly changed to winter. No drab in-between. All drama in the weather. The Vibrant colors. The crashing storm. And the silent snow. I love the beauty in the earth. This year I am particularly grateful that my MIL is visiting from afar for the entire month. She has never seen the colors change nor snow in person. This has been a wonderful month of firsts for her.
I love that this is the month of birthdays in my house! Mine was the 25th and my husband's is today (28th)! We are 362 days apart in age and he is the love of my life.....
Betsy

October 2010 has been awesome because i got to quit working full time and stay home with my babies!
Just one?! For starters I love that I had my 27th birthday. Hubby treated me to a wonderful time, sans kids, to go see The Phantom of the Opera. It doesn't get any better than that! But I LOVE everything about October: Fall colors, Halloween, dressing up, etc. It's all great!

Oh I totally want in!
One thing I have loved about October is the LEAVES!!!!!!!!!! They seem to be positively glowing here in MA, more than I seem to remember in years past. I could go on with more things I've loved, but the leaves have been a highlight!
I've loved the long-anticipated change in our weather! fall brings such nice temperatures around here.
I love October because it is my daughter's birthday! She just turned the BIG 9 last Friday and we had a blast! Plus, since I live in Texas, October usually means cooler temps. So while not your typical fall, it is better than hot hot hot!
I'm starting to really love October. As I get older, that means my 7 younger siblings are getting older. We seem to get busier and busier with less time to see each other. It so happens that Time Out for Women (TOFW) makes their southern states sweeps usually in October. It's becoming a tradition to get my sisters and mother and some friends to take a Time Out and attend the wonderful speakers and singers of Deseret Book. Last weekend was a wonderful time of bonding and just being sisters and daughters and leave the worries of being wives and mothers back at home. October is a great month for this experience. The weather just added icing to the cake of a great weekend of sisterly/motherly bonding. Love October!
Two words: Fall Color. Only you have to imagine them said with a meandering Southern accent, which is how people talk where I live. It takes on Masterpiece proportions down here where 90% of the trees are deciduous and the season shifts from summer to Indian summer to autumn back to summer then HOT and back to autumn in the space of a few weeks.
My two year old little boy shouts "Pumpinks!" and "Puddle!" as we walk around outside and I ask him, "What color are the leaves?" And he looks and says quietly, "Butterflies" because to him the leaves look like brilliantly colored orange butterflies.
That's what I love about this month.
I have loved the smell of fall, the leaves crunching underfoot, the decorations, celebrating my daughter's birthday and my anniversary - October is my most favorite month!
Would it be completely sucking up to say that one thing that I loved about October was seeing the pictures of your delicious daughter in the last post? Honestly, it came to mind right away. October is soccer time! Watching my babies have a blast, while I'm on the sidelines with hot chocolate and good neighbors and no worries...at least for an hour or so.
I would have to agree with the person who said the best thing about October is that it means the year is almost over! It's been a rough year. Another plus is that it means this semester is more than halfway over!
I've loved the transition feeling between summer and fall. Ice water to hot chocolate. Green leaves to red. Short sleeves to fuzzy hats.
I love October for the changing colors of the landscape around me here in South Central Illinois!
(PS - my birthday is Novemeber 4th - this would be an AWESOME birthday present!)
October love (and there's plenty of October love in my heart) is all about the weather. I live in Vegas. It's the beginning of my taste of Fall. Even though it isn't REALLY a taste of Fall . . . it's a change. I LOVE it...
I love that the weather has noticeably gone from summer to fall over the last few weeks. That leads me to many more things I love, but will keep it to just one per your request!
My favorite thing about this month is that, despite the heat where I live and the trees that have failed to turn orange yet, I celebrated 10 years with my husband and found out that my first child will be a little boy!
What I've loved most about October is time with my family! Days spent at the pumpkin patch, bookstore, nights spent watching movies & talking. October is one of my favorite months!
Thanks CJane for this awesome giveaway!
Stephanie
I've loved celebrating the changing season with my 3 boys. It's been so fun to see them appreciate the falling leaves and the colder weather!
What an awesome giveaway ...thanks for the chance to WIN ! ;)
I love October because it is the month I fell in lalalala LOVE with my most wonderful husband ! ...and the weather is not so bad,too ...!
Wow, I've finally been enticed to jump in. Impressive haul! And this month has been full of a lot of cuddling with little people I love. Which makes it a great month.
My baby daughter, Sarah, laughed for the first time this month. I don't think I've ever heard anything so beautiful.
My favorite thing about October was the weather. I live in Arkansas, which means this-- in the summer you do not go outside because you will either get attacked by a giant flying bug (no lie) or bit by a giant gross spider (almost happened to me) or you will fry whole in the million degree weather (fry, not bake. The humidity is just like oil). But in October, there is NONE of that. It is the most beautiful month. I spent time with my boys HIKING and playing at a sand filled PARK for heavens SAKE it was lovely. Thank you for asking.
I love the leaves falling, gingerbread and pumpkins, and most of all, the cooler weather! Thanks for the giveaway. :)
Oh Courtney - a picture by Kirk?!? I hope I win. :)
My favorite thing about this month (so far) has been that my husband and I found out that our new baby will be a girl!!! Well, she already is a girl, we just couldn't tell until this ultrasound. Hee. :)
Thank you!
i specifically love october 2010 because we were able to hear our sweet baby's heartbeat. after suffering a miscarriage in the spring, i have been all nerves during the first nine weeks of this pregnancy. after much anticipation, we heard a precious heartbeat this month. life is good!
its Mango season here in Australia and we had our annual afterschool 'first mango of the season' party and we have been getting sticky, juicy, and gooey. Mmmmm I love the smell.
I love the cooler weather.
Cheers

I love October because is signifies yet another change in the cycle of life. I don't particularly love the coming of the cold, dark months, but it they didn't come, then I couldn't fully appreciate the newness of spring. I also really like finally cranking up the coal burning stove. angelou22 at gmail dot com
Hi CJane! Every day this month has been an awesome opportunity to show my twin boys the beauty of autumn. They are just about to turn three and suddenly, they are noticing every bright leaf and small acorn. My favorite part of this month has been taking crunchy leaf walks, doing fall crafts, and pumpkin picking. Tonight, we are having family movie night and settling in with good old Charlie Brown and a big mug of hot cocoa.

I have loved crisp fall days, sitting on the bleachers watching my favorite cheerleader, and feeling acorns crunch underneath my feet when I walk!
That is QUITE the motherlode! I want in!
One thing I've loved this month: An amazing birthday suprise from my husband- a short day trip to the Poconos. It was quite perfect.
October has kinda sucked for me because I'm in my first trimester and I've been pretty sick - but I've been loving the weather because I can just take the kiddos outside to romp around and I can relax on the porch! I really don't care for November, so winning this would make it bearable ;)
My favorite thing about October is that the air is FINALLY cooling off and I can go outside and NOT feel like I am standing in a furnace. :) That and the holidays are approaching....that always makes me happy!!
Love your blog!!

My favorite day in October...taking a roadtrip with my best friend to buy a new (to me) car that I absolutely love!
My second favorite day....showing the car to my grandpa and seeing his reaction. "hmm...well...um...i bet it gets great gas mileage!"
OOHH my favorite part of October so far besides the fresh weather, is my chubs of a baby sprouted 2 new teeth :) yay for him!! AWESOME motherload!!
I love that I found a lump in my breast this month. If not for breast cancer awareness month I'd not have been so diligent. Now that I've found it early I WILL LIVE!!!
What I loved about October was when all the miners trapped in Chile were rescued safe. It was a really emotional moment for me, I cried while seeing the news.
October 2010 I celebrated my 5th wedding anniversary and spent my first weekend away from my 21 month old daughter while my husband and I went to the mountains for a little alone time. It was awesome...and the "baby" did just fine without us ;)
This October has been full of fun at our house. I recently had a new baby, and am needing new clothes, so to fund those clothes I have been sewing Jedi robes for kids in our neighborhood. Seeing my children and others playing blissfully in my creations has made this October very rewarding for me (not to mention fitting into my new jeans!)
I attended a wedding in NC, where we stayed in a house near the beach. Together with my extended family, I penned a song for the new couple and performed it live. Family, the beach and (slightly off-key) singing. Best. October. Ever.
this is so great!
i loved going to the pumpkin patch with my kids and getting the GIANT bag of kettle corn. seriously...it was as tall as my 4 year old!
Hi Courtney,
I think your motherload giveaway is A. Most. Awesome. Post!
My October might be spelt the same as yours, but here in Darwin, Australia, it doesnt feel the same. For me it feels wet and sticky, and hot, with the heavy promise of even more heat to come. Most importantly, October is the month that says "you-can't-wait-any-longer-to-get-your-cyclone-emergency-kits-organised". Yup, for my family the big 'O' in October is dripping with humidity and anticipation.
I have loved October....as I have had the pleasure of watching my lovely new daughter grow and smile each day ...... she will be six weeks old on saturday....and I am loving every moment !!
I've loved teaching my three kids (3years and younger!) to LOVE our changing seasons, namely Fall. We've enjoyed crunching leaves under our feet on our daily walks, baking, baking and baking, checking out everyone's else's Halloween decor, the smell in the air, watching squirrels busy at work in our yard and being cozy on our home with each other. Love this time of year!
This is truly the motherlode. I would love every single thing on this list.
The best thing about October has been finally celebrating my second son's 5th birthday. He has been watching every else's birthdays pass him by all year and he was so excited to finally get his birthday sundae at Red Robin with the cherry on top (which he took one bite of, declared gross and pass on to his older brother). His birthday made my whole month!
The thing that I unexpectedly loved about this month is the nostalgia I felt for Provo. We just moved to Mississippi for 2 years, and dangit, I miss good old Utah Valley in October! I miss football games and homecoming and the fact that fall zips by and suddenly it's snowing... Here it's still in the 80s.

My favorite part of this month has been making costumes for my grandkids. I have spent time with my daughter and boys. More then i usually get too. I can't say the cooler weather is always welcome though. That only means winter! lol
Ooh, I'd love to win! This month, I loved going to my cousin's wedding in Chicago. Great time with the family!
I got a healthy new grandbaby in October. What could be better than that?
The nights getting dark earlier- it gives me an excuse to come home from work and snuggle with my sweet husband without feeling lazy. Plus the gorgeous fall foliage here in Tennessee is to die for!
stephanie_christiansen@hotmail.com
what i've loved about this month?
a trip to NYC w/my husband, my 17 yr old son and my 13 yr old daughter..."birthday" celebrations for the "boys", "celebrations" that a yr. ago we were unemployed and knee deep in fear about what the future may bring, celebrations of memories in the making w/my two oldest, and celebrations that my two youngest had grandparents to stay with.
I love October. I think everyone does. But what I loved most about this month is that it's the month my baby boy was supposed to come to this earth. I say "was" because he hasn't come yet! The little bugger is hanging onto heaven for as long as possible, and I don't really blame him. I hope to have an October baby...only a few days left!
Throwing my hat into the ring!
Listening to scary ghost stories is my most favorite part of October. That and apple picking.
I loved feeling the crisp fall-has- arrived night air.
I love that it is my last month of not being a parent...not that I'm not excited about becoming a parent (on November 2nd!), but I've just been trying to relish my current life to the extent that I can! :) November will bring new times and new excitement.
What I loved about October is that the leaves have fallen off our tree - smell of cooked apples is filling my home - winter coats are out!
October is a doosey of a month for us. It contains three out of five birthdays in our little family, it starts with conference (an absolute favorite), my dad's birthday follows at the end of the month, and all the yummy goodness in between. Pumpkin patches, costume making, prep work for the holidays, and lots of baking! Thank you for doing this motherlode and making me pause to think of all the blessings and happiness that comes to my family in October!
Darn. I saw #8 and I thought I could win ~j for a day. OK, so the rest of the stuff looks cool, too. But ~j is the coolest.
As for October? Leaves crunching underfoot.
I love autumn and Halloween, so naturally I love October, but it's even more special to me because we celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary this year on the 3rd. Woo hoo!
My favorite part about October? Halloween! Every aspect of this holiday, from the decorations and candy to the costumes and parties, has brought squeals of delight from my children and has just lit up their eyes with excitement. And after a chaotic year filled with frustrations, heartache, and a very difficult pregnancy, it has helped me to refocus my attention to the simple joy that in a short 3 weeks, we will be adding one more squeal of delight to our little family. Thank you October!
This month, I loved a hilarious video my husband made of our baby LAUGHING at him. It makes me giggle every time I watch it.
I loved playing in the snow with my daughter for the first time (she was too little last year). I also loved dressing her up as a little bumble bee and hearing her say "Bzzzz"!
I loved eating roasted pumpkin seeds.
What I love about this month is the fact that my husband ,who has been a Police Officer for 15 years is leaving the Dept. to be the full time Pastor. I love that our little church has become a family over the last year and that we know without a doubt (and only a little fear) that God's hands have been leading us to this place at this time and that we are thankful to be here.
Oh my goodness, I never win anything. Please let me win!!! (crossing my fingers, toes, eyes, and anything else I can) October has been a lovely month mostly because it is my last month of being pregnant with my 5th child.... I am being induced on Nov. 1st and CANNOT wait! We didn't find out what the sex is and we have 2 of each, so it's a big deal around here :)
The best thing that happened this month, was when my husband put on my Princess Leia wig and the kids laughed so hard they couldn't stop. I loved it.
This month. My 28 month old. Is potty trained. Nuff said.
I have loved this October 2010 because I have been caused to think. You see, 3 years ago my sister was killed in a single car accident, not too far from where your sister Stephanie had her nearly fatal plane crash. On the day of my sister's death anniversary, I entered the Provo temple. I needed her that day.
Each and every time I enter the Provo temple, I think of you and your sister Stephanie. I don't know why. Maybe it is because I feel like you are like me, and I know that you live somewhere close. As I walk up the hill, I always picture your relationship with your sister. Always. Then I think of my relationship with mine, only I can only pray to feel her spirit, and talk to her like I'm talking to thin air.
Oh yeah, back to October. Call me strange, but I half way look forward to October. It causes me to reflect back on the awful day that we lost Azure, yet look forward to the day we will see her again, and realize with clarity that there is a plan.
It has been 3 years. Each day, we are one day closer to wrapping our arms around each other again.
PS - Give Stephanie a big hug, she's still here with you...
I have a five-year old son and I'm past the baby years, so when I see giveaways that include baby items I often don't comment. I don't typically have a need for baby things, having two older nephews and my growing boy. But the best part about this month, this wonderful month of October that I love so much, is different this year. I would typically say Halloween, or the crisp fall nights, or the fact that mosquitoes have disappeared. But this year it's different because my best friend is pregnant and this month, just three days ago, she found out she is having a little girl! She is so excited and I'm so happy for her. So this month, if I were to win this contest, I would give it to her, to celebrate her first-born and the fact that I now have an excuse to buy baby girl clothes!!!!
New house with a kitchen big enough to dance in.
What an awesome giveaway! Please count me in! The best part of this October was finding out that my husband and I are expecting our first child!
My favorite thing has been the pumpkin carving party I hosted for friends this week.
Just one thing? My favorite thing so far this month is all the QT I've been having with my family. We even went on a fall beach vaca- such sweet memories! Oh and candy corn. Oh and it was my birthday.
What a fabulous giveaway! My favorite thing about October is that two of my three kiddos were born in October - one of them is celebrating her birthday today! And my children are my joy, the greatest reason to celebrate for the whole month!
Plus I just love pumpkins! Yay for October!
I loved October for many reasons. 1. My Dad finally retired after 40 years of a really hard job.
2. My BFF married her BFF and it was so magical and lovely.
3. My sister and her partner are about to have their baby any day and that will be the best moment ever. (A year of onesies and a new quilt to cuddle in would be perfect wink wink)
4. And I'm pretty sure I met the love of my life. :)
How fun!
I just did a 5K race in October - my first! And survived! It was cool to accomplish something I never thought I would do :)
October 2010 has been a great month overall. The weather is finally changing, we went camping with Scouts last weekend and had a blast, my relationships are all on good feet. Not much more I could ask for, except that wonderful yellow bow purse in the motherlode!
I loved seeing my kids get sticky with pumpkin guts while we made our Jack-o-lanterns.

My 30th birthday was this month and I wasn't looking forward to it at all. My favorite thing about this month was how my friends and boyfriend swooped in (b/c they knew how I felt) and planned a fun and lovely birthday for me and made me forget how much I was dreading it. Love them!
Hi Cjane! I am in love with all things Fall and Halloween! My son, who is super close in age to the Chief, also loves Halloween. All month I have heard him talk about gwhost, punkins, witchez and the sorts! It's been bliss! Thank for offering this motherlode! It is awesome! I can't wait for the basa! Win or not win,.. I am getting me some! :)
I have already bought a whole lot of Basa Body products using the cjane promotion code! I bought some for me, which I am using, and I love them! And I bought some for Christmas presents! Thank you CJane!!
I love that our east coast heatwaves have finally subsided and I was able to dress my squishy baby girl in hoodies and tights.
What I love most about October is how the grey sky makes the changing leaves so bright!
This month I have loved going on our first real family vacation. Our three babies went to the ocean for the first time and we got to spend the entire week with our best friends. Wonderful for all of us in so many ways!
I am just loving the warm weather this October. I can't remember temps of 70 & 80 degrees in Oct., since I moved from the South!
My favorite thing about this October has been standing as maid of honor at my only sister's wedding. 10-2-10. She was beautiful and didn't stop smiling all day long. It made me so happy to see her so happy, I just might have cried. (okay, so I did)
(I typed this a moment ago, and then deleted it and reposted it. I just couldn't let the typo stand.)
I love October because it is my wedding anniversary, hubby birthday and love decorating for fall!!! My favorite time of the year!! Thanks for the giveaway I hope I win!!! ;)
This month I have loved going on our first real family vacation. Our three babies went to the ocean for the first time and we got to spend the entire week with our best friends. It was wonderful for us in so many ways!
I have loved the bright yellow-orange of our maple trees contrasted with the crisp blue skies! I will not love raking all of that yellow-orange up.
Word verification..."laters!"
I love October and am so excited there are 31 days to enjoy it. My favorite thing about this month is pumpkins, especially pictures of chunky babies next to big orange pumpkins- so adorable.
I've loved my first batch of fall squash soup and pumpkin cranberry muffins. Also preparing my daughter's 2nd halloween costume (she's going as billy idol)!
