Each day when the notice of this comes to my reader it makes me so sad. I'm all for celebrating but you are obviously very fortunate (come on? your husband can quit his job mere weeks before a new baby!)
Wouldn't this embarassment of riches meant more going to a needy mother in your community?
Pam - How would you describe a "needy" mother? I'm SO glad that I get to participate in this virtual baby shower to hopefully win some fun stuff for myself and my children that I otherwise wouldn't be able to get because it's too expensive (or frivolous) for me. It's so wonderful that these companies have been so generous. If you get "so sad" reading about this wonderful opportunity for people like me, then stop reading and get off the couch. Go out there and volunteer at your local battered woman's shelter. This is definitely NOT an "embarrassment of riches". Now, let's get back to celebrating new life! :)
An embarrassment of riches? What a laughable statement! EVERY new baby is a gift from God and deserves to be showered with new and fun things. I'm sure you had a baby shower, a wedding shower, etc. CJane could have taken all the loot for herself. What a sweet thing that there is one for her AND one for a reader. Ever heard "don't look a gift horse in the mouth?" If you don't want the gift, then don't enter, but don't spoil the fun for the others.
I think your needy neighbor up the street could use that stuff.
CJane-
I'm so happy you love your new print, creating it was probably my most intimidating adventure with my shop yet :)
Thanks for being you- congratulations to you and your family!

What a sweet thing for you to do!

You know, I think I'm almost as excited to log on everyday and see if that little one is here as I was with my own!! I pray you will have a healthy, beautiful baby and an EASY labor and delivery! Congratulations to all of you!
For all of you negative nellies, since when was this Courtney's idea? Did no one read her original post about it? Isn't it bad etiquette to turn things down such as this? ;)
And with that said, with what little info she gives us in her personal blog, I don't feel we can judge so easily. Do I wish my husband could have quit his job when our twins were born? Yes. But he couldn't and that's life. Am I happy that Chup can quit his job and stay home with his wife and child (soon to be two children)? Darn right.
And who is to say Courtney won't give some or all of these things to someone else once she is done with them? Wouldn't the better question be - why won't the sponsors donate their goods to needy vs. someone that may not need it as much? But even that is a silly question. The sponsors have chosen to do this, so why not let it be? (And maybe they do donate to the needy, but most people don't go around telling others about what they've done to help others)
AzĂșcar, have I told you lately that I love you?
Hey, C.Jane -- Just stopped in to see if Bambino 2 has arrived yet. I've got friends & neighbors all expecting any second now, hoping for mammoth shifts in the barometric pressure to cause them to go into labor, lol! Anyway, I thought this virtual shower was just a lovely idea. I wish you hearty congratulations and can't wait to meet little Pheomena Tallulah or Rigorous Mitch or whatever you name the little dear. Congratulations!!!
I love a good baby shower! Thank you for throwing this one.
Courntey is being gifted some lovely things, we are all learning about great artist and getting wonderful gift ideas, and some lucky girls (hopefully me) will share in the baby bounty.
May the delivery of and life with your new baby be wonderful and blessed.
Pam, if you know of a mother in need email me. I would love to give.
And believe me supportive and sweet friends, when I have this baby you will all be THE FIRST TO KNOW!
All I have to do is leave a comment to be entered into the drawing? Umm, comment. I would love many of those things!
Count me in! C Jane, you are awesome!
What an sweet idea from such sweet people. I am really looking forward to hear about the arrival of your little one!
This is such a great thing, and these sponsors are wonderful:) Happy Baby Days!
Thank you for your generosity to so many. You are reaching out in joy, to any and all that want to partake, via your blog, and Heather is so kind to arrange this for us!
