a month or so ago
i was reading
some paperwork my
midwife gave me
about newborn babies.
in particular
i read about how they
need to have their
little heads covered
for the first few days of life.
ever since i read that tidbit
i've had baby caps on my brain.
my friend likely
has a swedish grandmother-in-law mormor
who makes these adorable
knitted hats to sell in her etsy shop.
i am pretty
sure my newborn
must have one or two
maybe three.

i am a sucker for a mormor's gnome hat:
because look how cute it makes the gnome:
please excuse me,

my due date is coming up
and i am off to shop.

I have been buying or making hats for my little one due at the end of the month. They are just such a cute accessory for a baby, and lets face it, baby's can only do so many accessories.

Umm--you have caused a HUGE hole in my bank account now...and thus I will be forced to work copious amounts of overtime to dig myself out of the above hole...and my husband will ban me from your blogs forever. I'm just sayin....

The little yellow one with the flower is indeed adorable. Funny, when my kids were born in '75 and '81 they didn't do the little caps on their heads in the hospital and didn't tell you to put hats on the babies after you took them home, and that wasn't exactly the dark ages, you'd think everyone would have known better such a short time ago.
I have to know- why do babies need their heads covered after birth? I have never heard that.
Love the hats...and must comment on the temperture question since I had my baby back in October.
Babies are not able to regulate their body temperatures for the first few days. Then once they can....humans loose most of their heat from their heads!
