. . . your facial skin regimen?

ever since i was 16
i've had a goal of giving myself
a facial once a week.

right?

i did pretty well until
i had myself one of those baby things
and now i shoot for once month.

but, this means i've had
sixteen years of trying products
and i can safely say
a redmond clay facial
(at least once-a-month)
has tremendous effects on my skin.

redmond clay is ancient volcanic ash
(extracted from an almost extinct ocean here in utah)
(i am not making this up)
therefore is wonderfully nutrient-rich
naturally occurring.

it can also be used for about
a thousand uses
but i mostly use it on my face.

another product i whole-heartedly endorse
is burt's bees
marshmallow vanishing creme
as a moisturizer.

it's like smearing luxury all over your face.
which is why i do it twice daily.

(but to be honest
if it was called
burt's bees
apricot vanishing creme
i probably wouldn't love it so--
i like to think i am rubbing melted
marshmallows all over my skin.)

these two products
have been in my skin repertoire for a couple years now and
i don't intend for that to change anytime soon.

learn more about redmond clay here,
and more on the marshmallow vanishing creme here.

happy snappy weekend everyone!
please feel free to make a poster-size print
of this photo of me in my robe
and hang it on your wall!
ok?
great.

Hi Courtney,

I've been reading your blog and Stephanie's for couple of months and am fascinated with you all! (In a friendly, world curious way). I'm out here in Australia staying at home each day with my two toddlers (both girls...tears, tantrums and tiara's is how I best describe life!) and so was amazed to see your reference to Burt's Bees! At first I thought...Oh that'd be right...thought it was a local product but turns out it's a big multi national!.. Then I went to the website, and am happy again!
Cheers,
Gerbs

I don't even remember the last time I gave myself a facial... Well, it was probably before I added the two mini-men into my life. I agree with the Burt's Bee's products. The lip moisturizer saves me in the winter time, and smells lovely too! I'll have to check out what a good facial once a month would do to my skin.

This photo is too funny!! I have been wanting some skin care advice and that moisturizer isn't crazy expensive either.

love bert's bee's stuff too. actually... funny story! my sister in law came to visit me right after i had my second daughter at the hospital. she gave me a big bag of dill pickle chips (b/c i fasted them during my pregnancy) and a little tube of bert's bee's lip stuff. i wasn't exactly closely observing what kind of lip stuff it was. i thought it was just a chapstick kinda stuff. apparently it wasn't. it was a tinted lip moisturizer... and i only realized after i'd smeared it ALL over my lips and mouth area. without going into too much detail (there are pics) i looked like a clown. ha ha ha! and it stayed on so lovely the whole evening when others came to visit me and my new daughter. oh my... too funny of a memory.

anyhow... that was kind of random... thanks for the tips! ;)

Can you recommend a daily cleanser and a make-up remover?

I love Bert's products. The lip stuff rocks. Anyway, just ordered the creme from Target, as Bert's is out of stock. Can't wait for it's arrival, I've been trying different cremes with no luck... always to oily and leaves grime on my face.

Thanks for the great plug on Redmond Clay! If any of you are looking for it locally in the Provo-Orem area or in the Heber City area, it can be purchased at Real Foods Market. In St. George you can find it at the Health Nut.

Try it... it works!

First off, I love your blog(s) as well as NIENIE.
I have used the Redmond Clay (currently have some in my bathroom...go me) and I LOVE IT! Not only is it a good price, but I have never used anything that has worked so well on my skin! My sister in law even mixes it with water and drinks it when she feels sickness coming on. Ummm, I have not done that, I gag to easily, and the thought of drinking clay does not appeal to me, but she said her and her sis have done it for years...so I guess the clay is a miracle worker for lots of things.
I will however need to run to the store and try the Burts Bees, I needed a new moisturizer. And I love marshmallows so that's a plus too right. Next they should come up with marshmallow/chocolate vanishing cream, mmmmm chocolate (it's been my biggest pregnancy craving thus far ha ha ha)
Have a great day,and thanks for your fun fun posts!

Off subject, what kind of lens is on your camera?

YES! You said it! Redmond Clay. I grew up in Redmond and used it religiously. This stuff is amazing for so many things. And don't underestimate the powers of their salt either. It's so good I carry my own little shaker around ever where I go just so I'll have some. Strange I know, but I've got hometown spirit... and I really do just love their products. Straight from the earth to you!

Alrighty......I bought some and it asks, as you order online, where I heard about them and I said "Cjane's Blog! :)" Thank you!! And I also LOVE Burt's Bees. My Favorite is the Garden Tomato Toner. I love the smell of tomato plants! Great stuff and I am looking forward to adding this new product (and really anything would be new to me cause I've got pretty much nu-thin')!
Thanks!!

I just wanted to say that you give great product reviews. I already bought the coconut oil lotion and it is great for these dry Utah winters. I just placed my order for 2 half tees and can't wait for them to come. Redmond clay is fabulous and has so many uses. I am so excited to go get the marshmellow creme. Thanks for the ideas!
