kelly mccaleb's knitted bangles

i had an epiphany about this blog

over the holiday break.

i've decided to start using this forum
as a place to publicly pronounce my affection for
the little, sweet things
or the smart, enjoyable entertainments
or the tasty things melting inside my mouth.

or whatever i like, i suppose.

(and i will always reveal the source
so you can enjoy too.)

so, in addition to answering your questions
"where did you get . . .?"
i will also include things i want
to declare to the world
"i love this!"

today i'd like to start with a holiday miracle:
last month i decided i wanted (more than anything)
(besides world peace and all that jazz)
a yellow knitted bracelet,
nothing fancy,
just something to spice up the wardrobe a little.

i had never seen a yellow knitted bracelet
but the one in my head was chunky and fuzzy
i was sure someone out there had the same idea
and was already making them.

i went looking in boutiques, bazaars and craft fairs
(and online)
but my search came up empty.

then one day,
as i was reading
kelly mccaleb's lovely blog my happy little life
i saw that she posted photos of her etsy shop
which included . . .
knitted bangles!

here:

exactly!

and because kelly happens to be a friend of mine
i emailed her straight away and asked if i could order some
in yellow.

a couple days later
she hand-delivered them to my doorstep.
two lemon-drop-colored bracelets
plus one deep red, and one azure blue
for good measure.

it was a holiday miracle.

you see.

and i've spent the last two weeks
wearing them with every outfit i wear
all stacked on my wrists
cozy and soft.

thanks, kelly.

if you also want a knitted bangle
or if you'd like to get one
for someone who would equally enjoy one
you can buy them here
they are $12 each.

tomorrow i will answer the question
regarding my sister nie's rug
(this one lit up the email box)
until then my friends . . .

Can you also talk about the sofa Christian is sitting on in the same photo? Everytime I see that sofa I wonder about it, and wish I could know it's history, or even where she found it. I love it.

What a clever idea. I love the belly/bangle shot!

So cute! Isn't that funny how likely it is that someone else has come up with the same idea you have. It constantly surprises me.
