. . . a new family game?

about a month or so
i was sent a game in the mail
the game was called
sedarahc
which, for the non-einsteins in the crowd
is charades backwards.

i was thinking tonight would be lovely
to invite fun people over to play it with me.
so i called up the funnest people i know:
my teenage nieces and nephews.
i also invited my mother because
she is always up for a good time
(she also taught me that funnest isn't a word)

later on in the evening
other family members stopped in
and we invited them to play too.
so right off the top
i am telling you
sedarahc is a family game.

here were our players:

us clarks are a fun family,
but we aren't the most brilliant
fortunately sedarahc has very few instructions
and is non-complicated
easy for a set like us.

basically, it really is a backwards game of charades
where one person guesses while team members
act out words,
except the words
are crazy.

like speed bump:

s'more:

rogaine:

pledge of allegiance:

your guess is as good as mine:

(did you guess speedos?
you are right.)

so here is my review:

    pros
high energy game for the family
perfect for this holiday season.
builds a healthy camaraderie

the kids loved it
and wanted to play a couple more rounds
(but it was a school night
so i sent them home
promising we'd play again soon).

cons
we had a few accidents
when the game became intense

and then,
of course there was that time when
olivia and i had to act out siamese twins
and i nearly lost the bladder control
(what else is new?)
from laughing uncontrollably.

in the end,
my bladder control test always has the last word

did i come close to peeing my pants while playing?
yes.
yes i did.
therefore,
two thumbs (plus one bladder) up for sedarahc!
it's nearly the funnest.

check it out here
for a limited time, there is a $5 holiday discount off of the regular price (from $24.99 to $19.99)
should you want to purchase you can do so here!
and extra cool is this:
when you buy sedarahc,
a portion of the price goes to bring fun to kids
and their families at children’s hospitals.

thanks scott!

. . . that family photo on your wall?

the family photo on my wall came as a gift from a
blue lily photoshoot.
the photo was printed on canvas,
signed by wendy herself,
and hung up in our living room
with pride.

other questions include,
does it have a filter over it?
no
at least, i don't think so.

are we happy how it turned out?
really happy.

i don't know what service blue lily uses
for her canvases,
but we have printed some of
chup's photos on canvas
at costco
and have been happy as well.

great gift idea.
by-the-way.

. . . and invitation to the jolly porter's blog?

first off:
i just read through all of the gracious giveawayers
and all the excited winners
plus the generous discount announcers
from last week's giveaway free for all
and i am feeling all lovey.

thanks everyone for participating.
thanks for being kind.

today's question comes from a reader who asks
"how can i get an invitation
to your brother
topher's blog?"

to which i sadly respond
not only did topher stop posting
on his thoroughly entertaining blog,
he also set his archives to private
making it so
not even i can access his history.

but i believe in christmas miracles,
don't you?
maybe if we ask santa?

i am sure santa misses the
jolly porter too.

p.s. mego just sent me good news
$10 for my favorite print
read here.

. . . decemeber's free for all giveaway?

alright!
let's start this puppy off with
some ground rules.

#you can give as much away as you want
but please keep your winnings to one item.

(that means if you've already won something
let someone else have a turn.)

#when responding to each other
please use names
@cjane
@bari
@me
(like that)
because things get really confusing
in the comments section.

#free for all will continue until
friday midnight mst.

# if you are giving away discounts
to dear cjane readers
please do so using all caps
like you are yelling.

LIKE THIS!
DISOUNT! DISCOUNT! DISCOUNT!
AT MY ETSY SHOP!
OR WHATEVER!

so,
those are the rules.

i'd like to start with a giveaway right now:

i am giving away a logophilia print
of your own choice.

that is right,
the winner gets to choose their own print
and have it shipped to your door.

problem is what to choose,
(i chose this one, currently in my kitchen):

but as i've mentioned before
i fancy them all.
like this one:

i will give it to the first person who
guesses what cereal i had for dinner
tonight.
here is a hint: it was crunchy.

ok, go!
good luck to everyone!
i mean it!
