. . . haley's crib bedding?

so follow me here.

last week i featured my friend haley's house
on my provo blog
because she is trying to sell
and i wanted to help get the word out.

i posted this photo (above) of her sweet nursery
(haley just had twins--daughter and son)
and an email came shortly after:

"where did haley get her crib bedding?"

and i am so glad you asked
because our friend anne
of libby lane designs
designed and made the bedding.

anne does all custom work
tailored to your unique nursery
and on top of all that
she is my funniest friend.

are you in the market?
here is her website.

see the nursery from other angles here.
(the artwork was done by my same talented sister-in-law Lisa who did the bird mural!)

. . . the chief's overalls?

the chief has very few new clothes
because
he has a cousin luke
exactly one year older.

and luke's mom megan
loves to shop
loves to shop for lovable children's clothes
and never, ever puts those clothes in the dyer.

luke is megan's only son
luke is the last child.

what you are looking at here is:
almost like brand new hand-me-downs
for the chief.

do you follow?
i can't tell you how lucky i am.

but the other day,
something in the mail
came for my son
by the way of a company called,

matilda jane

and in the package were these overalls
which my mother -in-law
kindly put on my son for church.

and when i saw him in these overalls
i started laughing with glee.

so much so that chup
told me to go to my room
because he didn't want the chief to feel embarrassed.

and i laughed in my room for five minutes straight
came out
saw him again
and laughed for seven more.

i emailed the company straight away
to ask about these overalls.

here is the response:
I knew The Chief would look adorable in those overalls! I am so glad you like them. They are officially called: Little O's Overalls.

At Matilda Jane Clothing we stick to what we love best, the personal approach, so during the season the clothes are sold exclusively by our Trunk Keepers. We sincerely want each little girl who wears Matilda Jane to walk out the door feeling confident and happy and we've found the best way to make sure that happens is by offering personal service to our customers.

We will happily put anyone who is interested in the clothes in touch with a Trunk Keeper in their area -- and if there's not one in their area we can help them with that too! They can call the office at 260.424.3511, or fill out the simple form on the website, and get a response right away.

And for those who really want to shop in their jammies at 2:00 a.m., The Matilda Jane Platinum Collection is available exclusively online. This collection is made up of very limited-edition pieces that change fairly often. You never know exactly what you'll find there but it's always fun to look. You can view the Platinum Collection here: www.matildajaneplatinum.com

And the Mighty Acorns line, including those overalls, is available online here: http://www.matildajaneplatinum.com/viewcategory.php?ID=12 Mighty Acorns is part of the Platinum Collection.

thanks matilda jane

. . . peachy earrings for a winner?

katie rich you were the first to guess the calculated due date
that makes you our winner!
email me your address (cjane @ gmail . com)
and you've got yourself some peachy earrings!

thanks everyone for playing along!
it was fun on our end.

(due dates are silly concepts aren't they?)

(also, don't you think that photo of me with my peachy earrings is sorta funny?)
(took it myself, i'll tell you what.)

thanks darlybird!

. . . peaches?

that darlybird.
i just love her.
she sent me some new earrings
in the mail today.

included in the pink darlybird box were
an extra pair of peaches earrings.
(a pair i already own, and use in my constant daily rotation).

i thought,
what should i do with another pair of peaches?

and it came to me.
i should give them to someone.

so how about this,
the first person to guess my due date
(according to the pregnancy calculator on americanpregnancy.org)
will be sent these cheerful little pieces of earring candy.

just so we are fair,
no one knows my calculated due date
(not even chup).

happy guessing!

. . . more bird collages?

check this out!

dear cjane reader ashley followed lisa's tutorial
and now has this lovely piece
hanging in her home.

she writes:
It was really easy to make. I used a craft knife to cut out the birds from photo copies, and scissors for the tree branches. I painted the canvas board (it took three coats of Hauser Medium Green from one of the craft paint companies, Americana I think?) and let it dry overnight. Then I use these directions for the mod podge, since I'd never used it. I had no air bubbles, sticky spots, or paper tears.

nicely done ashley!

. . . your camera?

in recent emailings I've been asked
about our camera.

we have a nikon d90
and it is fine.
but a little advanced
for me.

i think i might recommend
the canon rebel
to those who are in want
of a capable-but-unintimidating camera.

but also, it helps to be married
to a man with a great eye.

(and a great butt.)

(i'm just saying.)

... that canvas behind your head in the duet picture?

i get comments on this artwork all the time.
it was done by my talented sister-in-law lisa
made with homemade gold paper,
wrapping paper
and vintage birds from a book
my other sister-in-law lindsay
bought for me at an old bookstore.

best of all?
lisa tells you how to create it yourself
follow her directions here.

i didn't know what to think

my mother's cultivated taste
they grew on me

she purchased them through
lund optical.
here in provo.

they are from
american anglo optical
