. . . your favorite mormon-themed book for really cheap?

ok so sometimes
i make up these questions
but only because
i have this excited
giddy
I HAVE GOT TO TELL SOMEONE
expression going on in my throat.
(ignore all that)
i was just notified that my favorite
mormon-themed book
road to heaven
is now being sold for $5.95
directly from the publisher
for $5.95 you will get
philosophy
love
conversion
adventure
sects
drugs
rock and roll
and even if you don't love it
as much as i do
you are only out a couple dollars.
or even if you aren't mormon
as much as i am
at least you will gain some insight into us peculiar people.
shop here.
p.s. if you do decide to buy, and read, will you email me after you are done so we can exchange in conversation about this book? i even told my chup today that he had to read it by the end of the month.
i am serious about this novel.

. . . fashion advice?

i've had a sweeping breakthrough
these past weeks.
i have come to realize
that all this time
i was trying to
change my body's shape
to fit into clothes.
(rather than change my clothes
to fit my body.)
it proved horrible.
one night, while
reading cardigan empire
i decided to really
measure myself.
in doing so
i came to find
my hips and bust readings
were the same,
while my waist
was significantly smaller.
i am an hourglass!
da da!
then, i voraciously researched
everything reachel had written
about my tribe.
i went to my closet
and pulled out all the clothes
that didn't curve
with my curves.
slowly i've been building up
a wardrobe that is kind to me.
this has helped my whole
self-image
confidence
and
helped me shed a few pounds too.
(because i have found a new
respect for my shape.)
reachel was recently interviewed
by sensibly styled.
i think her message is really important
and perhaps life changing too.
read it here.

. . . that black dress?

(oh look, here we are again, still playing the high f on my baldwin)
my black dress is actually
my target skirt
with a soft black t-shirt from
rubbish at nordstrom
under a top
purchased from Cozy,
--a boutique store in Provo.
some of you guessed this was my secret
all along.
well guessed, fashionistas,
well guessed.

. . . banana clip?

i know
iknow
no one technically asked this one,
but i've been searching for
the banana clips
that slipped from the 80's
into extinction
for quite sometime.
i ran into a lady the other day
who was wearing one
and i asked her where she acquired
such an ancient accessory
and she told me
"i got it about twenty years ago."
so we did some in-ter-net searching
and bought a package of them
with a robust variety of colors
on e-bay.
is this embarrassing you?
cause i am having
a good time here
(and i had to share).

. . . those purple shoes?

alright, alright!
this was the most requested
"where did you get?" item ever
in dear c jane history.
i am . . . flattered.
steve madden
tayla pump at nordstrom.
chup and i were shoe shopping
and our shoe contact
brought these out for me to try.
when i put them on
chup exclaimed
(loudly enough for the whole store to hear)
"sold!"

. . . i am a child of god print?

persimmon & pink
a reader asked me about this print
a while ago
only i can't find where the
original photo
of the print
is posted on my blog.
so i quietly sneaked
upstairs to the nursery
(where the chief is dozing)
peeled back the curtains
and took this shot.
all because i care,
all because i care.
*persimmon & pink is giving
c jane readers a
buy 2 get 1 free offer!
shop here
add two prints to your cart,
mention the third free print you desire in the 'Comments to Seller'
and you will get it free!

. . . stuff on your sidebar?

last year when we were fundraising
for my sister
i wrote a post on my blog
about going to
target
for all of my christmas gifts.
days later there was an email
in my inbox
from a reader who kindly
taught me a needed lesson.
the world of craftspeople, artists
photographers, designers, writers,
etsy-shop owners
were our greatest allies when it came
to fundraising.
they gave
and gave
and even donated monthly salaries.
why not spend less money at big chains
and focus on giving back to those
who had donated their valued
time and art
to our cause?
she asked me.
and that is what i intend to do.
support those who supported us.
on my sidebar i have a section called
contents from my postal box
which are tiny reviews of happy gifts
i've been given in the past year.
if you are looking for something simple
a small bit of homemade happiness
try my sidebar and join me
in supporting
the little people
with big hearts.

. . . these dresses?

all vintage
second-hand
store bought
priceless finds.
(lucy's dress too).
perhaps it's all about
being at the right place
at the right time?
